My Skincare Routine for Dry Skin

My Skincare Routine for Dry Skin

Having dry but sensitive skin I need to incorporate products which care for my skin while minimizing flaky skin, dehydration/tightness, and dullness.

My perfect line up to tackle this is…

Step 1. Cleanser

Its essential to complete this step twice a day. By doing this we remove build up in our pores and skin which then allows our following products to work to their full potential. Being dry I need a mild cleanser which does all this but does not strip my skin of its natural moisture. I recommend steering clear of makeup wipes as these tend to dry the skin out and not clean the skin well enough for the following steps. My go to cleanser is Goat's Milk Moisturising Cleanser this works to soothe and moisturise dry skin while removing dirt, makeup, and oil on the skin.

Step 2. Exfoliate

When done right exfoliation is vital for dry skin. For my skin I use ExfoliKate® Intensive, this formulation exfoliates my skin by removing dead skin cells on the surface, improves texture and brightens the skin. By having Lactic Acid and Salicylic Acid these chemically exfoliate and avoid abrasive damage. Exfoliation is so important especially when done regularly with a dryer skin at 2/3 times a week. It improves skin health and preps the skin for the rest of my routine to work more effectively and for makeup to sit glowy throughout the day.

Step 3. Hydrate

All skin types will benefit from this step, we all need hydration but us dryer skin types cannot afford to miss this out of our routines. I use the Dermal Quench Wrinkle Warrior to pump my skin full of hyaluronic acid which makes my skin visibly smoother, improves appearance of firmness and elasticity. Gives my skin that quench of thirst it needs every morning and evening.

Step 4. Moisturise

Next up is moisturiser, this step locks in the benefits from your serum and provides moisture creating smoother looking skin. By doing this daily maintains skin health and is essential to be applied morning and evening. My daily choice is Goat's Milk Moisturising Cream, filled full of ingredients like goat milk, jojoba oil, aloe and Vitamin E, this cream soothes while hydrating the skin.

In my evening routine I like to add 2/3 drops of Dilo Oil Restorative Treatment into my moisturiser. This fast-absorbing face oil works to strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier while improving skin hydration.

Step 5. Sunscreen

A vital step which is often missed out of our morning routine. Sunscreen protects skin from UVA/UVB. Not only does it protect us from sun burn but will reduce potential sun damage, shields from pigmentation, dryness, and ageing. While my UncompliKated SPF 50 Soft Focus MakeupSetting Spray does all this it also sets my makeup and allows me to top up every 2 hours without effecting my base products and ensuring I am always protected.
