Our Kate Somerville Brand Expert Beth shows you an insight into her current 5 Daily Do’s routine for her Oily/Blemish Prone skin.
Our Eradikate Daily Foaming Cleanser is a treatment cleanser which you can use twice a day. It contains Sulphur which works on decongestion and pores, natural oat extract and our patented botanical complex. These ingredients work on existing blemishes whilst natural oat extract helps sooth irritation or inflammation within the skin.
This cleanser is non-drying and leaves your skin feeling hydrated but clean, it works on blocked pores, congestion and active breakouts! As a treatment during your weekly routine try leaving it on the skin for 10 minutes whilst you’re in the bath for a deeper clean!
Our Liquid ExfoliKate is a gentle and non-irritating form of exfoliation giving all the glow of a manual scrub without the irritation. This evening treatment is suitable for a sensitive, blemish prone skin type who needs a gentle affective way to buff away dead skin cells. It helps fight against blemishes by breaking down dead skin cells and oil preventing congestion whilst also brightening scaring or imperfections from past blemishes.
It contains a 10% blend of AHA’s (including Glycolic, Malic and Lactic) and is a must have for anyone suffering from oily, blemish prone skin with an uneven texture!
Hydrate
Third step is Hyaluronic Acid! Hyaluronic Acid floods our skin with moisture and keeps our skin plumped and bouncy. Even the oiliest of skin types benefit from hyaluronic acid because we all need hydration! Our Dermal Quench Liquid Lift is a lightweight, water texture which absorbs quickly into the skin. It helps boost our skin with radiance, smooths skin and is light enough for an oily skin type to hydrate without feeling greasy. Treat/Moisturise
It is important to choose a lightweight, non-greasy cream or serum if you suffer from oily / blemish prone skin. Using lightweight formulas will feel soothing and hydrating without feeling too rich for the skin. Using a face moisturiser that is too heavy for the skin may clog pores and lead to further breakouts. Sticking to lighter water based textures will be enough hydration for an oily skin type. Moisturisers like our Oil-Free Moisturizer provides instant hydration without adding excess oil to your skin. This Fragrance-free quick-absorbing moisturizer uses oil-absorbing spheres to help prevent oil build-up and create a shine-free look.
Using sunscreen can help protect against the harmful effects of premature aging and sun damage. It minimizes the penetration of UV rays into the skin which can cause pigmentation or even skin cancer. It is vital that we protect our skin all year round with a broad spectrum of at least SPF30. Sun damage is one of the main causes of uneven skin tone and pigmentation, if we are using acids or retinols it’s even more important to protect the new skin to prevent sun damage. Most people (including Kate herself) dread the thought of wearing a sunscreen every day as they imagine it will be like the thick, heavy creams we apply at the beach.
That is why Kate developed Uncomplikated SPF which is a fine mist of Broad Spectrum SPF 50 which also sets make-up in place!
